I can't seem to figure out how to dig the rest of the thread out of my inbox (I'm in an airport), so I'm just replying here.
I've added this to next-audit, which will soon filter into for-next. I'm not sure if this is 100% settled, but I can't find any issues with it so I think it's best to get this out for testing.
