I'm going to assume it means chip/SoC vendor. That would result in
the following structure (I think):

Octeon -> cavium/
Lantiq -> lantiq/
Netlogic -> netlogic/ (or should this now be brcm/?)
SEAD-3 -> mti/
Ralink -> ralink/
