I've looked at it but I just can't figure this one out :-(
obj-$(CONFIG_GPIOLIB) += gpiolib.o devres.o
GPIOLIB selects GENERIC_GPIO.
So this *should* not be compiled unless GENERIC_GPIO is also selected.
