In my conception the code in kernel/irq.c that today does:
struct irq_desc *desc; if (irq >= NR_IRQS) return -EINVAL; desc = irq_desc + irq;
Should become:
struct irq_desc *desc; desc = irq_desc(irq); if (!desc) return -EINVAL;
