Run the DLTsage/Xtalk diagnostics found at http://tinyurl.com/dn7xn [which redirects to http://www.quantum.com/ServiceandSupport/SoftwareandDocumentationDownloads/DLT7000/Index.aspx#Diagnostics ]. Note: They have a Linux version there, but I have no personal experience with it.
