I have a 9000 Pro running under gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.5 with 3d/opengl
supported...

and I had it running with 2.4.x ages ago with gentoo-sources.

Also have a 9000 M9 Mobility in this laptop with direct rendering
running ok.
