Alright. I tried. If the BIOS is at fault, ASUS hasn't fixed it yet.

$ dmesg|grep APIC Local APIC disabled by BIOS -- reenabling. Found and enabled local APIC! Using local APIC timer interrupts. calibrating APIC timer ...
