Am I missing something here ?

The data type for things passed into SIOCDEVPRIVATE is
totally opaque.

Multiple drivers, passing in different kinds of data,
use SIOCDEVPRIVATE. It is inherenly untranslatable
at the point where we are at sys_ioctl32().
