In 2.3.x they changed the BogoMIPS algorithm. Seems like the change
is reached 2.2 series. Something to do with variable clock speed...

Yes, new bogomips looks similar to twice the clock speed.

I guess the main reason for change was to make Linux run infinite
loops twice as fast...
