At compile time, make install in linux/fs/reiserfs/utils fails because reiserfsck is not being compiled.
At runtime, I have run into an unexpected problem compiling a kernel on reiserfs (i.e. the kernel tree is on a reiserfs partition). When I exit from make config, the screen shows
Saving your kernel configuration...
and that's it, the shell prompt never returns. On the console:

and the system is locked so solid that <Alt-SysReq-s> and <Alt-SysReq-u> don't work. After a restart, I could reproduce the problem, again when exiting from make menuconfig. Reiserfs was compiled into the kernel. The disk where I can reproduce this problem:

In both cases, the file system was mounted manually with "mount -t reiserfs /dev/md0 /mnt/temp2", i.e. no options. My /etc/raidtab:
