Ray, just a question.
How did you get file_readahead to be 124? It's 0 for me (2.3.39), and hdparm can only change breada_readahead. I've grepped thru the 2.3.39 kernel source, and that variable is associated w/ BLKFRASET / BLKFRAGET .
