SubjectRe: Race conditions in file creation in 2.3.
   Date: Sat, 4 Sep 1999 15:30:42 +0100 (BST)
From: Alan Cox <alan@lxorguk.ukuu.org.uk>

With the 2.3.16 tree doing

cp -vrf /usr/bin /mnt & cp -vrf /usr/bin /mnt & cp -vrf /usr/bin /mnt

produces large numbers of file not found errors in response to create. It
looks like two people creating a file at once causes a bogus
error on one of the openers.

Is /mnt over NFS?
