It *was* in the kernel. The NO_LOCK fix was added in 2.2.7, and changed for official but undocumented one in 2.3.6. I can't tell you what happened w.r.t. the later 2.2 series, as CVS seems to have shafted my kernel tree, *again*. Either that or I've done something horribly wrong :)
