Have you tried kernel 2.3.4 (or newer, 2.3.5 is now out). The 2.3.4 kernel
has

- a big networking update to increase scalability
- scheduling updates

I would be very curious to see if the 2.3.4 performance enhancements
enable Linux to kick NT's butt.
