Ok. Can you get me a tcpdump of this happening next time it occurs.

I suspect the problem is entirely kernel. I've had some traces before that
looked similar but when the Linux box was removed continued so appeared to
be some kind of cisco melt down. There may be a lot more than first met the
eye however
