Yes, RedHat has decided to use the knfsd-1.2.2 patches and daemons, so
to use a kernel other than what they distribute, you must patch it
with the appropiate patch from the latest knfsd package, found in:

ftp://ftp.varesearch.com/pub/support/hjl/knfsd/
