    Not sure about the oops, but MAKE SURE UPDATE _IS_ RUNNING on 2.2.9! The
    patch that went into 2.2.8 which allowed you to remove update was
    _REVERTED_ in 2.2.9 and if you run 2.2.9 without update you will be in
    trouble.
