I tried the patch you suggested on AlphaPC 164SX compiling linux-2.2.5
with 2.2.5.uniform-ide-6.19.patch (this one has probably nothing to do
with n_tty.c or down_trylock) and patch-2.2.5-ac7. It seem to work fine so
far.
