I do trust your posting is coming from the right source, no need to PGP sign it.

You have to use the m68k tree to compile a m68k kernel - however even the latest m68k tree might not compile for the Apollo, it's been a while since I got patches from Peter.
Besides that the Apollo port only works on 68030 based systems at the moment.
