It works correctly in 2.2.3ac4 with SMP disabled, so it looks like the problem is SMP related. At the moment, I've only got 1 CPU (somebody else is borrowing the other one after breaking theirs...), so it isn't a major problem for me. But it still needs fixing...
Any ideas still gratefully appreciated.
