It works fine for me. Are you connecting from behind a firewall? Perhaps your firewall is masking ICMP packets needed for path MTU discovery, which is a new 2.2 feature. Try 'echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_no_pmtu_disc' and see if that helps. If it does, get your firewall fixed.
