2.2.1-ac5 with this patch seems to work better on a Gigabyte 586-DX with 2
200MMX CPUs

... but this patch seems to break (at least) xosview on both SMP and UP.
strace xosview says, it reads the last line of /proc/stat on and on (and
seems to get no EOF)
