When I am running kernel 2.2.13 (intel SMP), all a.out X applications crash directly after start with a memory error. I have attached a typical strace output of the crashing process, they all seem to crash at the same place. When I am running 2.2.9 (intel SMP) I don't see these problems, so it must somehow be kernel related. The behaviour is perfectly reproducable. Of course, kernel support for a.out binaries is enabled in both cases. Is this a problem with my setup or is it indeed a kernel problem? Am I the only one still running some a.out binaries? Do you need more information? I am attaching - .config of the 2.2.13 kernel - strace output of xsnow (as an example :-) ldd output: $ ldd /usr/i486-linuxaout/bin/X11/xsnow libX11.so.3 (DLL Jump 3.1) => /usr/i486-linuxaout/lib/libX11.so.3 libc.so.4 (DLL Jump 4.6pl27) => /lib/libc.so.4 HW: Dual Pentium II @333 MHz, 128 MB RAM Thanks a lot for any help, regards, Oliver Mai -- ___________________________________ Oliver Mai mailto:oliver.mai@on-line.de --------------FC8790C63229CB8705EA7958 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; name=".config" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename=".config" #
