Thanks for proving my point.
It does NOT sweep it under the carpet - it just reduces exposure, and THEN you can try trace that bug.
And besides, I refuse to listen to anyone who requests a kernel change with the intention of sweeping a software bug "under the carpet" instead of fixing the software.
