Passing on a lockup on boot from a friend who is not on the list (jafo@tummy.com). Ideas can be sent to me, or the list, or him directly: Greetings... I recently tested 2.2.0pre4 and 6 on my test box with a Buslogic 948 with a few internal drives and an external Bell and Howell Copyscan II 6338 scanner. This scanner worked fine with 2.0.36 kernels, but (of course) other parts of the production system require 2.2.0. If I boot with the scanner turned on, the oops listed below is produced. With it turned off, the system boots fine. Anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to let me know.
