Hi,
Michel, and anyone else who is able to reproduce the kernel crash, please compile ide-scsi with the:
#define IDESCSI_DEBUG_LOG 0
define in line 53 of drivers/scsi/ide-scsi.c changed into
#define IDESCSI_DEBUG_LOG 1
This will log the SCSI traffic between/to the ATAPI drive, and might help us to see where in particular this drive is responding differently than other drives, and which code path is triggered as a consequence.
