I had an idea to help mitigate the impact that dynamicising PAGE_OFFSET would cause. What about putting the page offset in the task structure? Isn't one task structure almost always hot in the cache? What structures in the Linux kernel are always hot? Also, another tack to take in combination to this, is to reevaluate whether using PAGE_OFFSET is needed in some situations. Can the same thing be accomplished without it? I'm gonna have a look around on 131 when I have some free time, and see about the second thing.
