I have several SMC Etherpowers, most of them (the new ones) work perfectly with 0.76 and de4x5, but don't work at all with the old driver. Then there's the old card, which doesn't work with the new driver.
tulip.c:v0.76 4/22/97 becker@cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov eth0: DEC 21140 Tulip at 0xe400, 00 00 c0 fa 7d db, IRQ 12
THIS IS AN ALPHA TEST DRIVER. The following verbose information is emitted for bug reports on media selection.
eth0: Old format EEPROM on 'SMC9332DST' board. Using substitute media control info. eth0: EEPROM default media type Autosense. eth0: Index #0 - Media 10baseT (#0) described by a 21140 non-MII (0) block. eth0: Index #1 - Media 100baseTx (#3) described by a 21140 non-MII (0) block.
And when it actually tries to use the network (nfs mount), it just hangs there...
