I'm having similar problems. I have, on occasion, fingered @ftp.kernel.org and found that there is a new development kernel, but been unable to find it at funet.fi, cistron.nl, or even cs.helsinki.fi. Upon making the slow trek to kernel.org, I find that the kernel is a couple of days old.
Anyway, I don't want to complain, as you're all (well, mostly anyway) busy people, but sometimes it's hard to remain on the bleeding edge...
Matthew.
PS. I provide a mirror on ftp.lmh.ox.ac.uk:/pub/linux/kernel/ which should have a fast link to most of Europe.
