(Hi Ted! Any progress with a fixed e2fsck?)

Fixed to do what? Aside from a known bug regarding the use of 2k or 4k
block sizes and the mke2fs -c option (which is fixed in my development
sources but not in any released version yet), I don't know of any
reported bugs in the latest version e2fsprogs.

If you're referring to the ability to deal with files greater than 2GB,
I'm still waiting for someone to either give me or help me get an Alpha
(I've had one or two potential offers, but nothing as come through yet).
Until I get one, I simply don't have a development platform where I can
do the work.

- Ted
