Yes, I don't know if this is related but some applications I have hang on sun when accessing the linux disk over NFS. Looking in the directory concerned there is a .nfs file which can not be removed:
50 celebes .../temp% cd ../test 51 celebes .../test% ls -a . .. .nfs7EEC 52 celebes .../test% rm .nfs7EEC rm: remove .nfs7EEC (y/n)? y 53 celebes .../test% ls -a . .. .nfs8EEC etc
