Yep, I have the same setup, I thought it was me (I've been messing with
my new installation, and ....). It does work, switch to runlevel 6 does
reboot the box cleanly, but it looks bad. I get 'INIT: cannot read
initrequest' scrolling as fast as it'll go (you can see the messages
from the change level scripts, but only as momentry changes in the
screen).
