I compiled 1.3.79 and it worked for the most part. It did work, but along the way it got:
copy.c: In function `___zero_chunk': copy.c:216: warning: `temp' might be used uninitialized in this function copy.c: In function `__memcpy_g': copy.c:75: warning: `icount' might be used uninitialized in this function copy.c: In function `__generic_memcpy_fromfs': copy.c:169: warning: `icount' might be used uninitialized in this function copy.c: In function `__generic_memcpy_tofs': copy.c:122: warning: `icount' might be used uninitialized in this function rm -f lib.a ar rcs lib.a checksum.o copy.o
They weren't fatal, but don't look good....?
You're using my fast Pentium memcpy routine. Congratulations!
The problem is with the constraint stuff in the routines. Gerhard Koerting has partially fixed this, but there are a few things I'd like him to change before I update the patch. In the event, these are perfectly safe.
