I've had problems with my system hanging on recent kernels, only when the driver was installed, only when using my Buslogic 445C very actively. Usually doing writes. Since I run X all the time, I don't, of course, have any kernel panic messages to convey. But if we're having interrupt latency problems, this might be a good opportunity to try to resolve some of these issues in an extreme-case test environment.
